No. Katama runs entirely in your browser. For developers, we also offer a CLI (Kage) and an MCP server for integration with Claude Desktop and Cursor.
Yes. Every new account gets 5 free images and 10 free chat questions — no credit card required. Video generation needs credits or a plan, so you only pay when you move to video.
Each AI model has a per-generation credit cost displayed before you generate. Costs vary by model quality and output type. You see the exact price before confirming, and failed generations are never charged.
Purchased credits expire 3 months after purchase. This keeps the platform sustainable and prevents indefinite liability. The expiry date is shown in your dashboard.
Nothing — you keep your credits. Katama uses a reserve-settle system: credits are held during generation and only deducted on success. Failures release the hold automatically.
Unused credits within the first 14 days are eligible for refund per our Terms. Since failed generations never charge, refund requests are rare.
$KATA is a utility token that gives holders bonus credits on every purchase. The more $KATA you hold, the higher your tier (Bronze → Silver → Gold → Diamond) and the larger your bonus percentage.
No. $KATA is entirely optional. You can use all platform features with regular credit purchases. The token is a bonus multiplier for holders, not a requirement.
Every day, Katama logs aggregated platform metrics (total generations, credits spent, models used) to Base mainnet. Anyone can verify these numbers on-chain. No fake metrics possible.
Yes. Katama offers a REST API with all generation capabilities available programmatically. API keys are created in your dashboard settings. Same credit system, same pricing.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets AI assistants like Claude Desktop and Cursor use Katama as a tool. You connect once and your AI assistant can generate images, videos, and more through natural language.
Yes. Standard accounts get 60 requests per minute. Team accounts get higher limits. All limits are documented in the API docs.
